Waupaca Community Arts Board commissioned a new mural to be painted on the side of the antique store at West Union St. and Main St. in downtown Waupaca.
Kari Esbensen shared what the mural means to her.
Friends, this photo is a segment of the beautiful new mural that adorns the side of the antique store in downtown Waupaca. What I love so much about it is it really depicts the ecology of our area and what makes it special…the interface between agriculture/the country, the downtown area/commerce, residential neighborhoods, the arts, the rivers/streams, lakes, and outdoor recreation.

One of the things some of us would like to bring to greater awareness is the interdependence of all parts of our community and their relationship to our environment and the natural history of our area.
We would also like to find ways to encourage progressive sustainable economic development in the community and region and invite new people who share this goal to consider making our area their home or place for their business.
We’d like our community to be a place that values diversity and is welcoming to newcomers as well as those already here, who seek to offer their talents and goodwill and share them with others.
