What businesses are represented at your Winter Farmers Market Booth?
The Sustainable Dreamer LLC booth hosts 3 businesses: the Copper Fox farms, Sustainable Dreamer LLC, and Kitchens Brew.
Tell us a little bit about these operations.
The Sustainable Dreamer LLC was created to expand on the farm and increase the production of produce and microgreen production.
As for Kitchens Brew, It has a more interesting story. My wife Jess was a chef in the Virgin Islands in the fall of 2017 when the hurricanes came through and she lost her job. She didn’t want to stop cooking and we had access to the family farm, so we combined them into her own production. From this, Kitchens Brew was founded in the winter of 2018.
Copper Fox Farms is a small soap and body care product-making business that my mother operates, and we are so happy to help her out and feature her products on our table.
What techniques do you want consumers to know about?
All of our produce is grown using organic and regenerative techniques however we are not certified organic at this time. The produce is also grown in soil, we do not use any hydroponic systems. Some greenhouses are used. These houses are insulated but not heated, so when it gets cold, we add more layers to them to try and preserve the crops for harvest. If it is too cold, we are unable to harvest them.
Who do you collaborate/partner with?
We collaborate with many other farmers throughout the area, especially with Kitchens Brew. We try to source as much local as possible, especially any animal products that we utilize in the Kitchens Brew.
