I attended the Oshkosh Seed Savers Seed Swap on March 1st. What a great day for a seed swap with a bunch of people interested in growing and saving seeds in the Oshkosh area. Over 250 people came together to swap seeds, learn and meet other people interested in growing the local seed saving movement.

I was told by one of the lead organizers that this event had double the attendance from last year. This is inspiring and hopeful. I had so many good and valuable conversations that helped me feel and see something good happening in our local community building.

I want to keep getting involved and see this and other similar movements keep growing. I would love to see this group find ways to host additional networking opportunities and gatherings. I am interested in helping that happen in all our communities around the Fox Cities. If you are lets get connected.

About the Oshkosh Seed Savers Seed Swap
OSS Annual Spring Seed Swap was Sunday, March 1, 2-4 pm at Culver Center, UWO. Seeds were packaged and ready to share. Seeds are all free, but they appreciate donations.
Individuals were welcome to bring seeds to share from personal collections. They also had four new Local Growing and Seed Saving Guides for Tomatoes, Eggplants/Peppers, Legumes, and Cucurbits. Also find a table of free garden/food related books to take and/or leave, and they had a children’s area for sensory play with seeds and OSS botanical coloring pages.
