One of my favorite outdoor activities here in central Wisconsin is paddling. Enjoying the waterways of central Wisconsin is one of the main reasons that I decided to move to the Waupaca countryside. I wanted to be closer to the places in nature that bring me joy.
The Crystal River is a little gem of a river here in the Waupaca area. The Crystal flows out of the south end of Long Lake (one of the Waupaca Chain of Lakes), through the rural countryside south of Waupaca, and enters the Waupaca River southeast of the city of Waupaca.
The river is a popular summer paddling destination.
Miles Paddled made a beautiful video of the trip they took from Marl Lake on the upper Chain of Lakes to the south end of Long Lake and the beginning of the river to Shadow Lake.
This is a popular section of the river. Check out their video
Have you paddled on the Crystal River?
