Common Roots Rising co-created the Waupaca River Cleanup at Brainard’s Bridge Park in Waupaca with the Fox Wolf Watershed Alliance.
On May 1st we gathered and worked together to pick up trash at Brainard’s Bridge Park and the other parks along the river in the city of Waupaca. Thanks to Kayla Van Dyke for volunteering to be the site leader, and for coordinating all the volunteers.
We had over 25 kind-hearted, caring people show up to lend their hands to cleaning up the rivers and parks, protecting the watershed, and taking care of Mother Earth. A HUGE Common Roots Rising THANK YOU to all who participated in this year’s cleanup!
Anna Cisar the Aquatic Invasive Species Specialist with Golden Sands Resource Conservation and Development Council gave a presentation about how to identify aquatic invasives in our waterways.
Jane Haasch and Scott Rusch joined us to share information about the spring ride on the Spring Ride on the new Masākāēw Trail*.
Mark enjoyed interviewing volunteers throughout the day about what inspired them to want to come out to help and about some of their curious finds.

It was a beautiful day of feel good vibes … feeling connected with others who care, while doing something for the good of all nature!
We created a photo gallery of more special moments throughout the day. You’re welcome to view the gallery here:https://photos.app.goo.gl/94NU9LXau42hYNsv7
Because of our team’s wish to be a part of this event, this was the first year that the Waupaca section of the watershed was included in the Fox Wolf Watershed Cleanup … we’re excited to make it an annual ‘for the common good’ thing!
