Winnebago Area Literacy Council is thrilled to announce our new program launching this summer – GROW: Gardening for Resilience, Opportunity, & Wisdom

Designed to address food insecurity among immigrant and refugee populations in Oshkosh, GROW is a summer garden project, launching in June 2026, that provides a dedicated space for WALC learners—many of whom have backgrounds in gardening and farming and are in need of culturally appropriate foods.
The garden creates a hands-on learning environment and a community gathering space, offering opportunities for knowledge exchange among WALC learners, staff, teachers, and community members.
GROW is a collaborative partnership between WALC, St. Andrew Church—which generously provides garden space on Murdock Avenue—and the Oshkosh Seed Savers Collective, which supplies culturally and dietarily relevant seeds for WALC learners.
Get involved with GROW: Winnebago Area Literacy Council is looking for volunteers to assist in the garden and donations of lightly used gardening tools! Contact WALC for more information. at info@winlit.org
