The local grassroots group Peaceful Patriots is set to host a NO KINGS 3 direct action campaign: a pro-democracy rally to peacefully protest actions taken by the Trump administration.
Advocates argue that recent maneuvers by Trump bypass democratic checks and balances, effectively establishing a “monarchy in all but name.” Demands include impeaching the president, ending ICE terror, and restoring peace at home and abroad.
The action includes a march around Opera House Square, music, chalk stations, and tabling with local organizations including the Oshkosh Vagabond Network, the Oshkosh Tool Library, The Repair Cafe, Forward Fox Valley, and Groundfloor Democracy. There will also be a performance by the Raging Grannies and a community sing-a-long led by the Singing Resistance.
The event will be held Saturday, March 28, from 12:30-2:30pm, downtown in Opera House Square near the sundial. (315 N Main Street.) Attendees are encouraged to bring signs, connect with the community, and engage peacefully.
Those interested can visit peaceful-patriots.com for more information and register for the event, though registration is not required to attend.
Note: another No Kings event hosted by Indivisible Winnebago Wisconsin will be held earlier the same day at Rainbow Park in Oshkosh from 10am-12pm.
