Perfect Ice for Building CommUNITY

A group of people from the Waupaca-Tomorrow River corridor of Central Wisconsin, have been convening over the past several months (remotely) to explore ideas for building forward-thinking community with others interested in rural regeneration, land and water conservation, regenerative agriculture, the arts, climate change, healthy food, sustainable economic development and attracting and retaining young progressive talent in our region.

We are currently sharing a survey seeking input from others who seek to make a positive difference here in the place we call home.

Thinking about the survey and reflecting this morning upon the things that keep me here, I looked out my back window while listening to Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata on public radio and a picture unfolded before my eyes that spoke a thousand words.

Lately, I’ve been seeing incredible social media videos of people skating on and in search of near-perfect ice in beautiful places across the globe.

And here, in our own backyard, it is.

I should add, before venturing out on the be sure conditions are safe as they can vary from one lake to another.
