SUMMARY:The Asian-Latino Borderlands w/ Dr. Lucero Estrella
DESCRIPTION:Dr. Lucero Estrella\, Assistant Professor of Ethnic Studies at Lawrence University\, joins WALC’s Immigration Learning Circle to educate us more on the Asian-Latino border. \n\n\n\nWhen we hear about the U.S.-Mexico border\, we rarely hear about the Asian migrants and Asian-Latino communities that have lived in those regions. Why have these histories been erased? Whose responsibility is it to share these stories? Dr. Estrella’s collaborations with the Asian-Latino communities across northern Mexico and Texas show that these communities have worked hard to preserve and tell the lesser-known histories of the Asian-Latino Borderlands. \n\n\n\nRegister here
